Filtration Systems
DNL makes both fabric and metallic compensators for industrial piping and duct systems — thermal expansion and vibration absorption.

It absorbs the thermal expansion of a duct run. The EPA manual notes that expansion joints are installed against thermal stresses, particularly on long metal duct runs; the joint compresses as the duct heats and opens as it cools.
Both are used, and DNL Mühendislik manufactures both. The metallic type is a bellows: a flexible metal piece, such as 304 stainless, welded to the two duct ends. The fabric type consists of a fabric section fitted between two flanges.
According to the EPA manual, silicone-coated fiberglass and aramid fabric can be used at duct temperatures up to 260°C; for temperatures up to 538°C, a coated fiberglass is required.
Along the duct run, particularly on long straight sections and at equipment connections. On an arc furnace dedusting line, thermal movement is greatest in the section between the water-cooled duct and the bag filter.
Duct cross-section, the expected thermal movement, and gas temperature. DNL Mühendislik'sthermal expansion calculator returns the movement from the run's installed length and the temperature difference. The same movement at direction changes is covered on the industrial elbow page.
